✅The Role

Technology at Corsearch currently consists of Engineering and Data Science functions, with 180 people globally, aligned to Trademark Solutions or Online Brand Protection Business Units.

Brand Protection consists of large scale web crawling and workflow web applications (including browser plugins). The platform is tracking millions of product listings each day and a dataset in excess of 150TB.

Corsearch is looking for a Technical Lead to take responsibility for the Data Platform and Middleware within the Brand Protection business unit. This consists of a master data system, a data warehouse, and a layer of middleware APIs. The platforms are running on hybrid infrastructure using Python, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, BigQuery, RabbitMQ and Kafka.

The Technical Lead – Data Platform will lead three cross-functional squads of software engineers and data engineers, approx. 15 people in total. The software & data engineers are organised in tribes & teams, aligned to business objectives, which includes the development of Platform X, the next generation Brand Protection platform.

This initiative is currently Corsearch’s largest technology transformation project and Corsearch is looking for an experienced technical leader that can establish a scalable foundation for the underlying data platform.

This is a hands-on role, with a mixture of technical & architectural leadership, leading, coaching & managing teams, and writing code & PoCs.

The Technical Lead will work closely with counterparts in Applications, Crawling and AI to create scalable and robust platforms for Brand Protection, which foster rapid innovation.

✅Responsibilities and Duties

Lead »

• Be accountable for delivering a scalable, capable and cost-effective foundational data platform for Brand Protection
• Own the tech stack, tooling & technology decisions for the data platform & middleware
• Own the data model for Brand Protection
• Management of three teams, approx. 15 FTEs in total
• Provide hands-on technical and architectural leadership
• Be accountable for on time delivery of awesome software
• Champion efficiency, automation, observability, and general software development best practice

Implement » 

• Design and deliver improvements to the data platform to speed up data processing, increase scale and optimise for cost
• Integrate machine learning models to efficiently process text and image data, at scale
• Deliver innovative new features, such as Network Analysis
• Ensure a well-designed data model where changes are managed and coordinated across the system
• Manage recruitment of software engineers in the tribe, ensuring a consistent, high standard of candidate evaluation
• Support engineers in development of their careers and coaching them to enhance their skills and to provide feedback via 1:1 process
• Establish Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment pipelines, Infrastructure as code and Zero-downtime release processes
• Assure code quality and ensure full documentation, including flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code, for all developed solutions
