✅The Role

As a Senior Scala Developer at Corsearch, you’ll be at the heart of our engineering efforts, designing and building scalable, high-performance applications and search engines that solve real-world problems for our clients. You’ll work in a collaborative, agile environment where your ideas and expertise will directly shape our products.

✅Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable software applications using Scala.
• Collaborate with cross-functional multi-culture teams to deliver high-quality solutions in an agile Kanban environment.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in pair programming and pull request reviews.
• Optimize and integrate with RESTful web services, Elasticsearch, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Develop custom Elasticsearch (ES) plugin components, including custom Lucene Queries and Analyzers.
• Research, design, and implement advanced search systems using algorithms, data structures, and text-search methods.
• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.
• Solve complex technical challenges and innovate with modern tools and frameworks.

✅Essential

• Proven experience in Scala development (we want to hear about your projects and achievements!).
• Strong understanding of web applications and RESTful API development.
• Expertise in SQL databases (we use PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency with Linux toolchains and modern development workflows.
• Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
• Fluency in Git and best practices for branching, merging, and code reviews.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for writing clean, efficient code.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

✅Technical Expertise in Search Technologies:

• Elasticsearch (ES) and/or Lucene internals: Ability to develop custom ES plugin components, including custom Lucene Queries and Analyzers.
• Algorithms and Data Structures: Experience researching, developing, and implementing new search systems as part of a team of search technology professionals.
• Text-Search Methods: Understanding of text-search methods and related basic algorithms.
• Vector-Based Searching: Knowledge of vector-based searching and related vector algebra.  

✅Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, and CSS for front-end development.
• Understanding of Python on some level
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (we use AWS)
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile.
